Laima Oržekauskienė-Ore is one of the most compelling textile artists in Lithuania and a recipient of the National Prize for Culture and Art. She has also received the Silver Medal at the 15th Lodz International Triennial of Tapestry in Poland, a Diploma at the Biennial of Lithuania Textile in 2016, 2018, and 2020, and was chosen Best Artist at the ArtVilnius’15 art fair. She has held solo exhibitions abroad in Japan, India, Austria, Denmark, Italy, and other countries.With her work, she has established her creative principle of combining the classical and avant-garde – an approach now being used by many textile artists.
